Day 1
Get ready for an unforgettable adventure as you embark on a breathtaking flight over the majestic Himalayas. Marvel at the awe-inspiring beauty of peaks like Jumolhari and Jichu Drake from above. Upon landing in Paro, our friendly guide will be there to welcome you and accompany you to your accommodation. Immerse yourself in Bhutanese history at the Ta Dzong, now transformed into the National Museum. Here, you’ll encounter ancient paintings, mesmerizing armour, and a captivating “field of Buddhas.” Take a leisurely stroll to the Rinpung Dzong, also known as the “fortress of the heap of jewels,” and be enchanted by its intricate wall paintings that hold centuries of stories. As the day unfolds, meander through the lively Paro town, where you can explore vibrant markets and engage with the friendly locals. Your overnight stay Paro.
Day 2
Today we hike to Taksang to acclimatise yourself before the Drukpath trek. Step into an unforgettable adventure by starting your day with a delicious breakfast before embarking on a breathtaking hike to Taktsang (Tiger’s Nest) Monastery, nestled at 3,100m. Legend has it that Guru Rinpoche embarked on a transformative meditation journey here atop a flying tigress. Along the way, take a moment to savour a delightful lunch at the Cafeteria Restaurant while surrounded by stunning mountain views. Immerse yourself in the monastery’s sacred halls, and as the day draws to a close, return to Paro feeling spiritually enriched by an exceptional journey. Your night will be spent in Paro.
Day 3

Get ready for an unforgettable adventure! Our day begins with a thrilling yet leisurely trek to help us adjust to the altitude. After a delicious breakfast, we’ll hop in the car and head to the National Museum above Paro before beginning our ascent. Our route leads us through picturesque apple orchards, the charming Damchena village, and thick pine forests, ultimately leading to the historic Jele Dzong (3490m) perched on a ridge. From this vantage point, you’ll be treated to awe-inspiring views of Paro town below and the majestic Mount Jumolhari (7315m). As the day winds down, we’ll set up camp at 3480m, surrounded by the serene beauty of the Himalayas. Get ready to make memories that will last a lifetime!
Day 4
10KM | 4 HOURS | 300M ASCENT CAMP ALT 3780M
Join us for an unforgettable adventure through lush alpine forests and colorful rhododendrons as we hike up and then down below the ridgeline. Keep an eye out for yak herders in this stunning setting, with breathtaking views of Mount Jumolhari and majestic snow-capped peaks. Our ultimate destination, Jangchulakha (3780m), is a peaceful yak pasture where we’ll set up camp and soak in the unmatched beauty of the Himalayan range.
Day 5
11KM | 4-5 HOURS | 400M ASCENT | 300M DESCENT | CAMP ALT 3880M
Today’s adventure will take us along the ridge, winding through enchanting juniper trees and petite rhododendrons, offering breathtaking vistas of the Thimphu and Paro valleys. As we navigate steep ascents and descents, we’ll eventually arrive at the serene Jimilangtsho Lake (3880m), renowned for its magnificent trouts. Close by, we’ll marvel at the majestic presence of Jichu Drake (6989m), the protective deity of Paro, before making camp by the glistening lake for a peaceful night’s rest.
Day 6
11KM | 4 HOURS | 270M ASCENT | CAMP ALT 4110M
Immerse yourself in a breathtaking journey through the majestic Himalayas. Wind your way through enchanting dwarf rhododendron trees, pass by the crystal-clear Janetsho Lake, and catch glimpses of yak herder camps dotting the landscape. The undulating trail will treat you to awe-inspiring Himalayan vistas as you traverse deep valleys, ultimately leading you to the sublime Simkota Tsho Lake at 4110m. Picture yourself camping amidst the serene yak pasture, cocooned beneath the expansive Himalayan sky.
Day 7
14KM | 7 HOURS | 100M ASCENT | 1800M DESCENT
Get ready for an incredible final day! We’ll start with a gradual climb to a saddle at 4150m, where you’ll be treated to breathtaking views of Mount Gangkar Puensum and the majestic Himalayan peaks on clear days. As we make our way down past serene lakes, we’ll ascend to the Phume La pass (4210m), which is adorned with vibrant prayer flags and offers sweeping views of Thimphu city below. The trail will take us through enchanting juniper forests before leading us down to Thimphu, where our unforgettable trek comes to an end near Sangaygang on the outskirts of the valley. You will be driven to your hotel in Thimphu. Site visits in Thimphu if time permits.
Day 8
Get ready for an amazing day ahead! After a scrumptious breakfast, we’ll kick things off with a scenic drive to Punakha, with a stop at the stunning Dochu La pass (3100m) and its 108 chortens. Keep your eyes peeled for breathtaking Himalayan views on clear days. Then, as we make our way through lush forests to Metsina, get ready for an invigorating hike to the Chimi Lhakhang Temple. This temple is a tribute to Drukpa Kuenley, also known as the Divine Madman. Next, we’ll head to Punakha and prepare to be wowed by the magnificent Punakha Dzong. But that’s not all – we’ll also be giving back by visiting and making donations to the monks at the Po Chhu Dumra Monastic School. You can interact with the monks and even join in some fun games with them. If time allows, we’ll cap off the day with a visit to the Punakha suspension bridge, the longest of its kind in Bhutan. Finally, it’s time to unwind and settle in for the night at a delightful hotel in Punakha.
Day 9
On your way back to Paro, you’ll pass through the breathtaking Dochu La pass and Thimphu. Take some time to visit the Druk Wangyel Monastery at Dochu La, famous for its stunning paintings. Once in Thimphu, we will visit the Buddha Dordenma Statue. Afterwards, head back to Paro and immerse yourself in the charm of Paro town. You can spend the evening exploring its quaint streets and cozy corners. Finally, settle in for the night at a comfortable hotel in Paro.
